Tag Archives: I’m just waiting for these WordPress prompts to end up featured in an Alex Jones podcast

You Keep Using That Word. I Do Not Think It Means What You Think It Means.

Prompt: If you could permanently ban a word from general usage, which one would it be? Why?

Why?

What one word has such terrible power?

And wouldn’t banning it “from general usage” just give it more power?

Force it into the shadows, where it can grow unchecked rather than keeping the limelight focused on it for all to see, and if necessary, counter?

And what gives me, or anyone else for that matter, the right to decide?

Besides a WordPress prompt, that is?

No, I’m not so drunk on power to think I have that right.

And you shouldn’t think you have it either.

That said, I really hate the word “peninsula”.

It sounds vaguely naughty and simply put, has an unsightly number of syllables for the concept it is meant to convey.

Come on. Make up your mind. Either you’re an island or you aren’t.

Peninsula.

Ugh.

If you lined three words up against a wall, told me to kill one or else my family gets it, and one of those words was “peninsula”?

Well, let’s just say my family would be just fine…

These books are from the alternate version of The Shining, where Jack wrote “peninsula” over and over again
